Knowledge is coin of the realm in Social Media. Call it info, content, data, statistics, analytics, you want to be, as Flo says in the Progressive commercials “so in the know that you will be floating in, you know? Know.” But to acquire that cache of knowledge you have to constantly read, network, and if the opportunity comes to you, go to conferences. I was recently at Dennis Yu’s Blitzmetrics conference and plan to be in San Diego this Thursday for the biggest & best of all Social Media Marketing World 2017 presented by Social Media Examiner.

Over 4000 beginners, intermediates and influencers will be mingling, talking, listening, asking questions and learning the best social media marketing techniques from the world’s top experts. Speakers will include Guy Kawasaki, Mari Smith, Scott Monty, Jay Baer, Ann Handley, Michael Stelzner, Michael Hyatt, Amy Porterfield, Chris Brogan, Mark Schaefer, and many more.

Well, you don’t have to. Just know that these conferences are taking place (I posted a link to a list of them on my Facebook page) and that we, the fortunate ones who can go to one or two a year will report on what we see and hear. But also keep an eye out for one conference that may be held near you, as they do try to spread them around the country.

No matter what you think you know, know this: there is always someone who knows a little more. Social Media conferences are where we go to find him/her, learn and share back with followers and clients. That’s why you go to conferences.
